Our first day of the Erasmus week was intense right from the start. We, shaped by our history of guilt and raised to be reserved, were invited to watch military parades, ride in military vehicles, and cheer for warplanes in the sky. What was initially very disconcerting for us is a part of the Norman culture and their way of celebrating peace and showing how important it is.

But isn't this exactly the goal of our project? To promote peace? Yes! So, we embraced it and celebrated along. We shed the shadows of our culture and became part of the Norman culture. In the end, we went home with enriching experiences and a poppy on our T-shirts, happy that we had participated in the celebration of peace.
